About the Book:

[from the website]

A woman and her young son flee to a convent on a remote island off the Breton coast of France.  Generations of seafarers have named the place Île de la Brume, or Fog Island. In a chapel high on a cliff, a tragic death occurs and a terrified child vanishes into the mist.

The child’s godmother, Maggie O’Shea, haunted by the violent deaths of her husband and best friend, has withdrawn from her life as a classical pianist. But then a recording of unforgettable music and a grainy photograph surface, connecting her missing godson to a long-lost first love.

The photograph will draw Maggie inexorably into a collision course with criminal forces, decades-old secrets, stolen art and musical artifacts, and deadly terrorists. Her search will take her to the Festival de Musique, Aix-en-Provence, France, where she discovers answers to her husband’s death, an unexpected love—and a musical masterpiece lost for centuries.

My Review:

I am a huge reader and with some books I have learned that you can’t always ‘judge a book by it’s cover’. So let’s say I had no idea what kind of book I was really getting into before reading this. I don’t like reading reviews before reading the actual book because I like to be surprised with what I am reading. Well let’s say that mission has been accomplished!

The story of Maggie O’Shea is just amazing. The way Helaine captures her strength in the book is inspiring. Especially to go through and over come all the pain and loss that she went through. You really learn how the love and fear of losing a child can put so much determination into somebody who is so overcome with grief. It’s just amazing.

I don’t want to give to much up about the book but it’s based around Maggie heading off to France and teaming up with Colonel Michael Beckett in the search for her godson who has gone missing following the death of his mother, her best friend.

It’s a story about fear, heartbreak, death but also about overcoming all of that and even letting yourself love again.

It is a must read, can’t put down for a second kind of book.

Suspense and thriller lurking around every corner.

Once you start this book, I promise you won’t be able to stop.

**I was given this Book for free by the author for my absolute 100% opinion. I was in no way coerced into saying what I said or how I feel. My opinions are my own, and I will not recommend a product to viewers if I do not like it.**
