One of the best ways to explore the desert is on foot! There are endless trails to discover, and you never know what you might find along the way. Be sure to pack plenty of water and snacks, and wear sunscreen and a hat to protect yourself from the sun. For example, you can hike to the top of a sand dune to get a breathtaking view of the desert, or you can explore one of the many canyons and gorges that wind their way through the landscape.

2. Biking

If hiking isn’t your thing, consider renting a bicycle and hitting the trails that way. There are plenty of companies that offer bike rentals, and most desert towns have trails that are perfect for biking.

In addition to biking, you can also consider off-road dirt biking. Off-road dirt biking is where you use a special bike to travel on unpaved surfaces. This is a great way to see the desert, but it is important to be experienced and properly equipped before attempting this activity. Many of these ruins can be visited on guided tours, or you can explore them on your own if you’re feeling adventurous.

4. Local Culture

Deserts are often home to unique and interesting cultures. If you’re interested in learning more about the people who live in the desert, consider attending a cultural event or taking a tour of a local village. You can also try your hand at traditional desert activities such as sand painting or pottery making.

One of the best things about deserts is that they offer some of the darkest skies for stargazing. If you’re lucky, you may even be able to see the Milky Way! Be sure to pack a telescope or binoculars to get a good look at the stars. And if you’re really lucky, you might even spot a shooting star!
