How to Indulge and Enjoy Life a Little More

Self-indulgence is not bad. In fact, if you are a busy parent with a 9-5, a house to run, and countless other responsibilities, a little self-indulgence every now and again is a necessity. You are not a slave to your family or to everything. You are a person who needs some enjoyment and some relaxation time. The good news is that there are many ways to do this. All you need to do is devote a little time to yourself, forget everything and everyone else and really unwind. So, let’s discover some ways you can indulge and enjoy life a little bit more.

Indulge in a Hobby

A hobby such as writing and painting can be seen as quite self-indulgent. They are a way of expressing some of the deepest parts of you, and engaging is something that takes a lot of time and effort. When you are in the act of creating something, you are almost in a meditative state. You are completely at one with the work, and nothing else exists. This is indulgent because it takes time and concentration. It requires peace and quiet so you can relax with your thoughts until your creative mind takes over.

A Hot Bath

There aren’t many things in this world as simple, as relaxing and enjoyable as a long hot bath. Get some essential oils and dip those in too. Use muscle relaxants and really soak that up. Why not really make an atmosphere? Use candles and some meditative music. A bath can help you relax and allow the stress to melt away. It can help you remedy any muscular injuries. It can help the blood flow better and even make your skin appear younger and fresher. If you are feeling ill from a cold, it helps you sweat it out. A bath is a much-needed necessity in the modern world. So every now and again, make sure the kids are being looked after, and all distractions are off, and enjoy.

Your Vices

We all have them, and sometimes without them, we will not be as happy. So, there is nothing wrong with a glass of red wine at night or even using the standard vapes. It is all about finding a happy medium. Indulgence is about enjoying the things that you love. Enjoying something is not about needing it. It is pleasure, not a habit. So, as long as you are in control of the things you enjoy, you are able to really enjoy them.

Chocolate and sugar, this is clearly another vice, but cake deserves its own segment. Life cannot be enjoyed if you are constantly calorie counting. Every now and again, you deserve a little of the things that put that smile on your face. So, buy that cake and hide it from the kids. When you are alone, take out a slice and savor it. Cake should be seen as the treat that it is. Seeing things as a treat and not a common daily thing is how you get the most enjoyment out of them.
