5 Tips on How to Build an Interest in Fitness
If you’re looking for tips on how to build an interest in fitness, you’ve come to the right place. Whether you’re just beginning to get in shape or you’ve been working out for a while, you’ll want to stay on track with your goals. Fitness can be a touchy topic for a lot of people, and on top of that, it feels so gatekept as well. However, it’s important to enrich your wellbeing, and building an interest in fitness is going to be the way to do that. So, here are some tips on how you can build an interest!
Exercise doesn’t have to be boring
If you’re not someone who enjoys going to the gym and doing the same reps repeatedly, then it’s something you don’t have to do. Exercise truly doesn’t have to be boring, and that’s one of the biggest misconceptions. If you want to get into fitness, it’s going to be about getting fitness to work for you.
I have never been one to be able to work out and actually enjoy myself so I had to make it fun for me. I started listening to my favorite PodCast and/or music to help myself let loose. I added dancing into my workout, along with yoga and meditation, which has helped me a lot.
Understand that exercise doesn’t have to be hard
You should get into exercise for many reasons, but it can be challenging. The best part about exercising is that it can be fun. You can choose from a wide variety of activities. While some activities look less fun and painful, you can do what you want. If you hate cardio but love jumping than just get a trampoline!
You can even join an exercise class. These are great opportunities to meet new people and stay motivated to keep going. Just remember that fitness isn’t one size fits all. You can exercise however you want to exercise.
Workout with a buddy
Getting a buddy to work out with can be fun and interesting. It will not only motivate you to stay on track, but it can help you meet new friends and learn new skills. You may even get to teach your buddy something new. Sometimes, just having someone just as enthused as you can drastically help the experience. It doesn’t need to be a gym buddy, but just someone you can talk to about this. There are even websites online where you can find accountability partners.
Consume fitness content
This doesn’t even need to be just about fitness, but could even be sports-related too, such as Kevin Burge sports cards. Consuming fitness content will give you the opportunity to learn more about it, but it will also give you the opportunity to become more knowledgeable about it too. While some people will hire personal trainers, the free info you get online will essentially become your “personal trainer.” Whether it’s a blog, YouTube Channel, TikTok account, or even Instagram account, all of this can be very beneficial.
Start a blog
It may sound odd, but one way to get yourself to enjoy fitness and a healthy lifestyle is to blog about it. In fact, you could even vlog about it or just participate in forums (like a mini blog) instead. For some others, they’ll make a TikTok or Instagram account talking about their experience, so even something like that could be an option for you. I for one have never been good infront of a camera, that’s why I blog.
