Product Review: Barking Madness eBook by Ryan Hill

Good afternoon my fellow bloggers/readers! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day thus far! I have a great book review for you today so let’s get started!

Product Name:

Barking Madness

by Ryan Hill

About the Book:

Short version of the story:

(because I can’t give too much away hehe)

Rosetta moves from Florida to Ashwood, New England. She has been having nightmares of a masked man for as long as she can remember but little does she know the nightmares are just the beginning.

Michael has been living in Ashwood all his life and frankly is bored with it. That is until Rosetta comes to town. He is intrigued with her from the start. Even ends being her prince in disguise when Rosetta finds herself in a situation that not even her quarterback boyfriend could help her escape.

About the Author:

(taken from his Goodreads profile)

Ryan Hill is a YA Fiction writer. Born in Connecticut, Ryan now lives in Massachusetts with his family and is a student at UMass Amherst. His novel appeals to young adult readers and people of any age who are looking for a good psychological thriller. It’s a Girl Interrupted meets Shutter Island kind of story. When not in front of his computer writing or studying, Ryan can be found playing Xbox with friends, watching movies (He’s a huge movie buff), or working out at the gym.

Ryan’s knack for writing fiction emerged at an early age, when he wrote stories for his own enjoyment. He decided to put his hand to writing a book at 17, when he came up with the concept for the dark, witty, and suspenseful psychological-thriller, Barking Madness. He enjoyed creating the different layers of characters and relationships in his story, and like any debut author, found it difficult to stop. Science fiction and thrillers are his favorite genres.

My Review:

I must say for it being Ryan Hill’s first book it was great! I can’t wait to see what else he comes up with in the future. For all of you who read my blog know I am a huge book lover, no matter the genre. This particular genre is one of my favorites. I must say I am more of a vampire lover than werewolf but they still have a special place in my dark, crazy heart 😉

This book had me hooked (with goose bumps I might add) from the beginning. It starts off from Rosetta’s point of view and switches to Michael. Like a back and forth game. I love that you get to read from two points of view in the story and that it tells you under the chapter number who is talking so it doesn’t make it so confusing.

This story has so many twists and turns, blood and gore that keep the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and your eyes glued to the book. The ending is not what I expected but even better. It is defiantly a must read!

The only advice I could give (and the reason it’s not 5 stars) is that even though it was amazing it could have been shorter. Bravo to making it over 250,000 words but sometimes I felt as though the dialogue could have been shorted and was dragged out too much. Other than that it was defiantly a can’t-put-down kind of read!

**I was given this eBook for free by the author for my absolute 100% opinion. I was in no way coerced into saying what I said or how I feel. My opinions are my own, and I will not recommend a product to viewers if I do not like it.**

Shutter ISland AND Girl Interuppted are some of my favorites so I'm glad to see that it's a cross between those! Looks like an interesting read!

To be honest I haven't read many fiction books but I really need to catch up on different genres, think it helps a lot when you story telling yourself on a blog.

That's quite a bit of words indeed. I used to be able to read a book like that in a day or two when I was younger. Now it takes me a whole year to get through a book!

Sounds like a great action and drama packed book. I like the idea of her nightmares leading somewhere, always intrigues me.

I absolutely love getting lost in a good book. I'm typically not one for thrillers but this option sounds like a real page turner. Now I just need time to read!

I like books that switch point of views but only if its just two or three. I like mysteries so I may have to check this one out. The cover looks pretty creepy.

This sounds like a book I'd like. Even the long dialogue wouldn't bother me. I've always loved beefy dialogue.

Those psychological thrillers I have a hard time reading because they freak me out. I can't even watch TV with psychological thrillers. Sounds like this book is a good book even if it's a bit long.

This looks like a freaky good book! I don't usually read thriller and gore books but this one peaks my interest to be honest with you. Is this a read in the middle of the day kinda book?

Let me know what you think!
